The Thrifty Dollar
Joe and Laurie Darrow have seen the need to help people in the neighborhood of Kensington find employment. They look at this mission as part of the gospel of Jesus Christ, people in Kensington need to know Him. Part of helping people is to see the gospel affect every area of their lives. The thrift shop enables Joe and Laurie to have a job training location where people can ‘see and do.’ So far, all the profit of the thrift shop has gone towards paying the employees. Along with our thrift shop some of our men have been doing some handyman work. This has also proved beneficial for the people of Kensington. Please be praying for us as we work to evangelize and to train people in a good work ethic.
The Thrifty Dollar is always very thankful for donations. It is a blessing to have these donations dropped off at the thrift shop which is located at 3058 Frankford Avenue, Philadelphia, PA, 19134. Fridays and Saturdays are usually a good time to drop off a donation.
